Banjo,Bass Guitar,Ukulele - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.913058 Composed by Andrei Lucian Dragoi. Instructional. 8 pages. Andrei-Lucian Dragoi #5741645. Published by Andrei-Lucian Dragoi (A0.913058). This paper proposes a sketch-version of a unifying beginnersâ cost-effective teaching/learning method for any fretted string instrument (like ukulele, guitalele, mandolin and guitar) using the same 4-strings tuning which may be also used to teach/learn the basic music theory and practice elements: more specifically, the standard tuning of the central 4 strings of the guitar may be applied (non-standardly!) to all the other cited smaller (thus more portable) instruments (like ukulele, guitalele and mandolin) which may be used either independently/separately or as preparatory instruments for the purpose of teaching guitar (and music theory) after that first teaching/learning phase on a smaller instrument (or on a 4-strings guitar). This unifying method may largely open the horizons of children (and beginners in general, to experience more than one instrument) and may also help poor children/persons (who donât afford a guitar) to be taught the guitar basics (including important elements of music theory) on much cheaper (smaller) instruments (who are generally much more accessible): that is why this method also addresses to all music teaching systems from all poor countries worldwide. For those who have a guitar or a guitalele and want to apply this method, they may easily remove the 1st and the 6th guitar/guitalele strings (E4 and E2): the resting nucleus composed from the 4 central strings is sufficient to teach/learn all the basic theoretical and practical notions of guitar (or any other fretted string instrument) and music in general. This paper also contains some examples of songs (written in English and Romanian languages) with included chords (aka tabulatures), each song displayed in one tonality (C major or its relative A minor) or two tonalities (C major [/A minor] and G major [/ E minor]) which can then be altered by using a capodastro (aka capo) to fit any tonality and thus fit the ambitus and tessitura (the most acceptable and comfortable vocal range) of any child/adult voice. For a periodically-updated extensive online catalog of harmonized/ chorded songs see URL: http://dragoii.com/hcs This paper continues the work of other past articles/preprints of the same author in music.

The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage

Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Vibraphone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912928 Composed by Brandon Nelson. Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 11 pages. Brandon Nelson #2082127. Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.912928). This work is based on the book by the same title. In it, one Abraham of Wurzburg, an aspiring medieval mage and devout Jew, describes a tour that he made of points in Europe and the Middle East, searching for a mentor who would not turn out to be a charlatan (or worse). Abraham eventually finds such a figure in a small town on the banks of the Nile. Here he meets the great magician Abramelin, whose system of magic Abraham sets out in detail. What results is the present volume, which puts forth a complete course in ceremonial magic (both white and black). In Abramelinâs system, after a lengthy period of self-purification and prayer, one may call upon oneâs Holy Guardian Angel, who will then instruct one further on how to conjure up the princes and demons of Hell to do your bidding. The crux of this involves using certain special squares of anagrammatic words that would compel the conjured demon to perform specified tasks. In this piece, I take five of these squares and depict them in colorful, virtuosic tone paintings. (Learn more about me at bnelsonmusic.wordpress.com).

Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q21969). English. Now, one of most unusual works of our time is available as study score in a facsimile edition: 'Delusion of the Fury'. At the time of creation, the great experimenter and sound researcher Harry Partch had fully developed his special scale system. By having specially designed instruments made, he created the prerequisites to bring his ideas of sound and harmony onto the stage. Using 25 of these special instruments, 'Delusion of the Fury' provides the opportunity to experience the musical universe of one of the most extraordinary American composers of the 20th century in all its nuances and hypnotic power.1. Small Hand Instruments: Alpha - Ugumbo, copy of a Zulu instrument · Beta - Bolivian double flute · Gamma - Rotating drum · Delta - First waving drum · Phi - Second waving drum · Epsilon - Six bamboo claves · Zeta - First bamboo ceremonial pole · Eta - Second bamboo ceremonial pole · Theta - Third bamboo ceremonial pole · Iota - First pair of eucal claves · Kappa - Second pair of eucal claves · Lambda - Third pair of eucal claves · Psi - Fourth pair of eucal claves · Xi - Thumb piano · Omicron - First belly drum · Pi - Second belly drum · Rho - Gourd drum · Sigma - Fiji rhythm boat · Omega - Gubagubi - 2. Large Ensemble - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955739 Composed by Phil Thrift. Instructional. Score and parts. 18 pages. Phil Thrift #6327371. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.955739). Little Waltz for a Dancing Occasion is intended for junior players and can be performed on virtually any combination of five or more woodwind and/or brass instruments. It is based on my own experience of working with such groups. This waltz is perhaps a little unconventional in that it does not make use of a strong first beat â traditionally played by bass instruments â followed by weaker second and third beats. Furthermore, in this piece most of the phrases are five, seven or nine measures long, thus departing from the four- or eight-measure phrases many players will be used to. From measure 22 the melody in 3/4 time has an accompaniment that is essentially in 2/4 time; Iâve included accents here to help ensure a 2/4 feel. Thereâs also a rather abrupt ending which, hopefully, will take some by surprise. And everybody gets the tune at some stage, not just the usual melody instruments! The parts included are suitable for the instruments found in groups of learners:flute, oboe, Bb clarinet, bassoonEb alto sax, Bb tenor saxBb trumpet, F/Eb horn, trombone (TC/BC), euphonium (TC/BC), tuba, Bb/Eb bassThe high flute/oboe part is optional. The glockenspiel is also optional and Iâve mainly included this part so that, if you have a drummer who needs something to do, he or she wonât be tempted to just play bass drum on first beat, snare on second and third beats! The tempo chosen will depend on the abilities of the players.Apart from maybe saving paper, writing two parts on one system does help players to learn to read such charts â something I feel all players should learn to do from an early age.

Small Ensemble Dulcimer,Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.834319 By Madeleine Peyroux. By Leonard Cohen. Arranged by Ben D'Ooge. Jazz,Pop. Score and parts. 8 pages. Ben D'Ooge #6404809. Published by Ben D'Ooge (A0.834319). This is an ensemble arrangement, in the key of B minor, for two DAD tuned Appalachian mountain (lap) dulcimers and B minor Native American style flute. The two dulcimer parts, chord melody and backup accompaniment, are written in both standard musical notation and dulcimer tab. The Native American style flute melody part, to be played with an B minor key flute, is written in Nakai tablature. R. Carlos Nakai developed this system of tablature notation (commonly known as Nakai tablature) that can be used across a wide variety of flute keys and tunings. He published this in The Art of the Native American Flute (1996) with James Demars, Ken Light and David P. McAllester. This provides resources and support for musicians playing the Native American flute.

Small Ensemble Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818333 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Thomas Hastings, Augustus M Toplady, Ira D Sankey, William O Cushing. Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Sacred. Score and part. 51 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6091833. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818333). Rock of Ages hymn arrangement for flute and piano by Stephen R Dalrymple transcribed for solo clarinet, trumpet, euphonium/trombone, violin, and cello   Rock of Ages (text by Augustus M Toplady 1776, tune by Thomas Hastings 1830) Hiding in Thee (text by William O Cushing 1876, tune by Ira D. Sankey 1877)   To describe might, power, security, protection â the images we think of are exploding bombs, a nuclear arsenal, security systems. None of these existed in the ancient world. The image of a rock, its density, its hardness, its inability to be shaken, actually, that is a universal metaphor. And so we find it often in the Bible.   Moses struck the rock to produce water. Paul tells us that rock was Christ. [Ex 17, 1 Cor 10] Moses was hidden in the cleft of a rock to watch the presence and glory of God pass by. [Ex 33] David often alluded to the rock as a fortress in the Psalms. [Ps 18] And the picture of Christ as the cornerstone is another favorite theme. [Mt 21, I Pt 2] Several of our hymns use (and mix) these metaphors to speak of the Rock, a place of refuge, a place of safety, a place of redemption.   Suitable for preludes, offertories, concerts, personal meditation.   Includes pdf of 14 score choices â« Full Score for flute and piano letter size â« Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Trumpet, Euphonium (or trombone), Violin, and Cello solo parts, â« Full Score for flute and small page format for performing from a 10 inch tablet and â« the same solo parts for 10 inch tablet. tablet (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. Voice, recorder and percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q25928 Pentatonic. Composed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. Arranged by Arnold Walter and Doreen Hall. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Orff-Schulwerk. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 1. Schott Music - Digital #Q25928. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q25928). English.Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. His ideas and pioneering work have had a major influence on music and dance education throughout the world and today that work continues under the guidance of leading teachers and educators in many countries. The five basic German volumes of Music for Children by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman were published between 1950 and 1954. Edition have since been published in Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ghana, Great Britain (including a special Welsh edition), Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latin-America, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA. In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared, an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. A few years later, Margaret Murray independently developed a version (1957-1966), essentially to fulfil the needs of United Kingdom teachers. Inevitably the considerable growth of Orff-Schulwerk in the United States led to the publication of the American Edition (1977) to satisfy the requirements of a different educational system and national heritage. Orff-Schulwerk: Music for Children has proved itself to be a stimulating source of material for music teaching. Carl Orff's fundamental educational ideas have revitalized music education in nursery schools, at all levels of primary and secondary education and in special music schools, based on the concepts that: - music, dance and language are inter-related and animated through rhythm. - when children discover, invent, improvise and compose, their experience of music is intensified. These creative activities are complementary to those of interpreting and listening to music. - all who take part are encouraged to contribute, not only vocally but also instrumentally. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided; it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. - movement games and activities for body awareness in space, time and flow, lead to movement improvisation and dance forms. - music and dance have been notated in many different ways in history. Various ways of writing down sounds and music, as well as playing from and interpreting different kinds of sources are being explored. Today, countless teachers and institutions are using these ideas. More and more teachers look for ways of invovling their students in active music making. In particular, they seek to challenge their pupils' creativity by the use of music, dance and speech - as media of human expression - as a foundation of all education. A prerequisite for work in Orff-Schulwerk is the artistic and pedagogical training of teachers. The Orff Institute was founded in 1961 as a Department of the 'Mozarteum', in Salzburg, Austria. Training offered includes a four-year diploma course, a two-year post-graduate course, and a one-year-course in English. At the opening of the Orff Institute in Salzburg in 1963, Carl Orff ended his speech with a quotation from Schiller: 'I have done my part, now do yours.' That challenge has been taken up by teachers worldwide. Hall/Walter Edition Based on Volumes 1, 2 and 4 of the original German Edition musik für Kinder, english adaption with additional material by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1412646 By Brent C Robitaille. By Brent C Robitaille. 21st Century,Classical. 83 pages. Brent C Robitaille #994677. Published by Brent C Robitaille (A0.1412646). One Second to the Future (Guitar Orchestra) Composer: Brent Robitaille  ⢠âOne Second to the Futureâ is a two-movement piece for either a single or optional double guitar orchestra with four separate parts for electric guitar and classical guitar. Two optional steel string guitar and electric bass parts are available but may be substituted if these instruments are unavailable. The total score will be around 500 measures with a running time of approximately 12-15 minutes. The piece is quite approachable for intermediate-level guitarists, with the more challenging sections arranged for the 1st and 2nd parts of the electric and classical guitar. Three overhead mics from the stage will be used to spatialize the sound into a stereo or surround sound system.  ⢠The first movement starts with a fixed audio shortwave recording from the Canadian time signal shortwave station CHU, gently fading in for approximately 20 seconds before the guitar orchestra begins with natural and artificial harmonics.  ⢠The second fixed audio track gently enters around the 1:00-minute mark. This track was recorded using eight amplified and non-amplified guitars in altered tunings with eight separate microphones to integrate into stereo or surround sound. The guitar's open strings were left to vibrate sympathetically as the volume increased and struck on the headstock with various rubber and metal sticks, violin bows or paint brushes to get the strings vibrating. The resulting wave files were then imported into a sampling program and filtered into the overtone series with âCâ as the fundamental, emphasising the first 14 partials. This recording will be used intermittently throughout the first movement, acting primarily as a background pad.   ⢠At approximately 3:00 minutes into the first movement, the players are asked to use a glass or metal slide to tap out rhythms based on the international Morse code. Several other standard slide guitar techniques are also integrated into this section. See instructions in the score. The first movement ends with both fixed audio tracks fading away.  ⢠The second movement integrates a more traditional guitar playing and composition approach. Its bulk is at a robust tempo of 160 bpm and uses several rhythmic and timbral techniques, including sul tasto, sul ponticello, harmonics, golpe, string snaps, and the further use of guitar slides.  ⢠Midway through the second movement, a rallentando proceeds to a section indicated by the tempo mark âslow motion.â At this point, a third fixed audio recording of a single vibrating guitar string slowed down by 3000% will fade in. The orchestra is instructed to play with this recording in slow motion or approximately 30 bpm. See score for details. The orchestra eventually returns to the original tempo to finish the 2nd movement.  Technical Requirements ⢠Three mono or stereo mics from the orchestra will be required and blended with the stereo or surround sound. ⢠A standard guitar delay and distortion pedal for electric guitar parts one and two is required. ⢠Glass and metal guitar slides are required.   To download the fixed audio tracks, go here: https://soundcloud.com/kalymi/sets/one-second-to-the-future-guitar-orchestra-fixed-audio-tracks For fixed audio track information and information, contact me at:info@brentrobitaille.com.

Recorder - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835794 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Paul Burnell. 20th Century. Recorder Ensemble. 44 pages. Paul Burnell #3451223. Published by Paul Burnell (A0.835794). Ogives, composed by Erik Satie (1866 - 1925), arranged for recorder ensemble by Paul Burnell 2012.Four movements. The download comprises two separate sets of scores and parts: Set one: Two Soprano Recorders, two Alto Recorders, Tenor Recorder, Bass Recorder, Great Bass RecorderSet two: Two Tenor Recorders, two Bass Recorders, Great Bass Recorder, Contrabass Recorder, Sub-Contrabass Recorder Optional: When played by a large ensemble, with more than one to a part, the solo/tutti indications in brackets may be observed. The original piano music was written without bar-lines, with each system consisting of a whole musical phrase. That feature has been maintained in this arrangement and the systems are consistently presented throughout the parts. Original dedications: J.P. Contamine de Latour (1867 - 1926) - poet Charles-Gaston Levadé (1869 -1948) - composer Madame Clément le Breton - to whom Satie also dedicated another early piece 'Valse ballet' Conrad Satie - brother of Erik Satie Programme note: An ogive is the curve that forms the outline of a pointed gothic arch. Erik Satie gave this title to a set of four piano miniatures published in 1886 at the beginning of his career. Their calm, slow melodies are built up from paired phrases reminiscent of plainchant. He wanted to evoke a large pipe organ reverberating in the depth of a cathedral, and achieved this sonority by using full harmonies, octave doubling and sharply contrasting dynamics.
